Description:  MultiMedia (MMC) Memory Card
Memory Cards are used as the storage media for most Digital Cameras. Having an extra Memory Card is like having a spare roll of film for your traditional camera. It simply means you can keep taking pictures longer.

Memory Cards use a technology called Flash Memory. Flash Memory is a removable storage medium, much like a CD-R. It's more powerful than a floppy disk, and more compact and portable than a hard drive. Flash memory can store data, images, music, and video, and is used by PDAs, camcorders, MP3 players, and even notebooks and PCs.

Flash Memory comes in several formats, including Compact Flash Cards, SmartMedia, MultiMedia (MMC), Secure Digital (SD), xD, and Memory Stick. They come in various capacities, some up to 1GB or more, so you can choose a card size that matches your needs.

Each Digital Camera will only take one kind of Memory Card. So make sure the Memory Card you purchase is the right one for your Camera.
